Rick Ross is reportedly in the hospital for respiratory treatment related to possible pneumonia.
A 911 call was placed by someone at Ross' Miami-area residence around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, according to TMZ. Police sources claim that the "person in distress," reportedly Ross, became "combative" following a period of heavy breathing. A Ross source added that the issue is "heart-related," but an unnamed family member has denied the hospitalization entirely. Reps for Ross did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment.
Last year, Ross appeared on Dr. Oz amid his Rather You Than Me promo tour and discussed the back-to-back seizures he suffered while flying in 2011. "I went hard, you know," he said. "It didn't seem as bad to me because the majority of the time I would be putting in work. The other time I would be partying, and the rest of the time it kind of blended. And that went on for years and years and years. I just developed those certain patterns."
Ross dropped off the video for his T-Pain and Kodak Black collab "Florida Boy" last month.
Port of Miami 2: Born to Kill, according to comments Ross gave to Tim Westwood in November, is set to be released this year. "I'm digging deep into these joints, these records, these collaborations," Ross said at the time. "I'm just going all out. It's the 10th one." DJ Khaled has been involved with the sessions in some capacity. "Port of Miami 2 in the works," he told fans last August.
